Speaking at Aloha on Rails

I’m very pleased to announce that my talk on Lean Teams – doing more with less has been accepted at Aloha on Rails. This topic has been a passionate one of mine for most of 2009. I even started blogging about it in parts in March of this year. One of the exciting aspects of this talk is that it’s filled with such radical ideas to how I have been writing software in the last 5 years. Back in 2004 I was introduced to extreme programming and I fully embraced a new way of thinking. It was as if my software career took a huge leap to a new level. I hardly felt like the same programmer after that. I have those same feelings now, that these new ideas are a similar shift to the agile one I had 5 years ago. I’d excited to see how my fellow attendees will receive this talk.

What’s even better is that Aloha on Rails is stacked with awesome talks. I’d dare say that the line-up is on par with RubyConf and better than RailsConf. Considering it’s a small conference there won’t be 1500 people wandering around and you’ll have a much more intimate experience. Throw in an awesome location like Hawaii and you’ve got a killer combo. I’ll be traveling with my family and the kids are super excited to get a vacation out of it. I’m also planning on publishing our trip on the newly launched Everlater website run by one of the 2009 Techstars teams from Boulder. Anyway, I hope to see many of you there.
